KNEU 1250It’s time to remember a Uintah Basin fallen officer. 15 years ago on November 21st, Uintah County Detective Cpl. Kevin Orr was in a helicopter accident while assisting with a search for a missing woman.

UDOT projects in the Uintah Basin are wrapping up for the season. Region 3 Communications Manager Geoff Dupaix reports that work on S.R. 87 in Duchesne is now complete. This $700,000 dollar project started in early October and focused work on Center Street and a half mile of Highway 40 rehabilitating the asphalt.
For those that have been waiting, TriCounty Health is spreading the word that the COVID-19 booster shot is now available for all adults 18 and older. Governor Cox reported on Wednesday that there have been 579,376 Utahns diagnosed with COVID-19; 25,273 have been hospitalized; and 3,398 have died.
The victim of a fatal crash near Vernal on Tuesday has been identified. Utah Highway Patrol shared that the fatal crash occurred on November 16th at approximately 11:16 am on Highway 40 at milepost 139.
A head-on collision between a Jeep and transit bus has left one man dead and at least 5 others seriously injured.

The Utah Climate Center through Utah State University issued a winter outlook focused on northern Utah this week. It is officially a La Nina winter this year which typically means drier than normal conditions for the south but, thankfully, the northern half of the state is just as likely to experience near normal precipitation.
