An annual student celebration was held on the UBTech campus in Roosevelt yesterday to recognize a few outstanding UBTech students. Quinten Baldwin and Hunter Ruppe, both high school sophomores that have made technical education a top priority, were awarded. Quinten is approaching completion of the UBTech IT Support Technician Certificate and represented UBTech at the SkillsUSA state competition last month. Hunter is a dedicated UBTech welding student who emphasized during the gathering his appreciation for the instructors who motivate him to keep going even when it’s challenging. UBTech President Aaron Weight complimented both young men for their grit. “You are doing something today that has turned you from being a viewer, to a doer,” said President Weight. “So many experience life through the viewer’s lens. I’m proud of you for experiencing life through the doer’s lens.” A third individual, culinary arts student Jaycee Kissling, was also selected as one of the UBTech outstanding students to be highlighted but was unable to attend Tuesday’s ceremony. Congratulations to each of these young, hard working UBTech students!
