The Vernal Chamber has announced a new Outstanding Public Service Award recipient. The Public Relations Committee was very pleased to present the award to Dr. Harold Kim Jones. As a Podiatric Physician Dr. Jones opened several satellite offices in the Basin, served on various committees at the hospital, was active in the Utah Podiatric Medical Association holding various offices, published two articles in medical journals, was nominated as Podiatrist of the Year in 2000 and was involved in numerous other activities and organizations. In 2010, he sold his practice and started a new career as a Financial Advisor. He and his wife Colleen have mentored 4-H programs, coached basketball, soccer and baseball and trained as adult scout leaders. They belong to the Texas Longhorn Association and currently raise Longhorn cattle. He has served in several teaching and leadership capacities in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as a State Central Committee member for the Republican Party. For the past 13 years Dr. Jones has taught nursing students at USU. Thank you Dr. Jones for your many years of outstanding public service.
