Wednesday was a very special night at the Outlaw Trail production of ‘Hello, Dolly!’. Not only was lead Joel Benedicto back on his feet and delivering an energetic performance just days after an emergency surgery, it was also a night heralded as Legacy Night. Outlaw Trail Board President Jay Haslem welcomed the crowd and talked about the history of Outlaw Trail Theater, the amphitheater, and the many people that helped build it into what it is today. Appropriately, a special tribute was given to the Litton family who have been the primary force behind the summer productions for over 20 years but who announced this spring they are taking a well deserved rest from it for now. Ron Litton was invited to introduce the show in his well known style, being sure to include a shoutout to those who traveled all the way from Gusher. The cast and crew of ‘Hello, Dolly!’ then put on a show stopping performance. Once the final bows were had one more special Legacy Night moment was shared. The Littons were invited to the front and cast and crew from the past and present sang “Seasons of Love” from the musical Rent in tribute for their sacrifice and service for so many years. July 1st and 2nd are the final opportunities to see ‘Hello, Dolly!’. Get your tickets now at www.outlawtrailtheater.org
