Opposition to “Million Pipeline” Continues to Mount

An original proposal that was shut down to pipe water from Flaming Gorge to Colorado’s Front Range is back in new form, this time proposing water be piped from the Green River near Brown’s Park. What is nicknamed the “Million Pipeline” is hitting roadblocks and growing resistance. The project would include hundreds of miles of buried pipeline to carry the water from the Green River to Pueblo, Colorado. Deseret News reports that the list of critics includes the water districts in Uintah County and Emery County, the Provo River Water Users Association, the Center for Biological Diversity and Trout Unlimited. The State of Utah Division of Natural Resources also submitted an official protest citing impacts to endangered fish and Utah water users. Aaron Million is the Colorado entrepreneur pursuing the project.
