If you’re like most people, you probably didn’t wake up thinking you need to participate in a 5K tonight but maybe that’s exactly what you need to be doing with your
Friday night
! Operation Underground Railroad is an organization made of former Navy Seals, Special Ops, and homeland security officers, who go into the dark trenches of the world to save kids from sex trafficking. In their four years of existence they have rescued 1400 kids and arrested 560 traffickers and tonight a local event is raising funds to support the rescue of yet another child, and maybe even two. The Vernal Rescue Run was founded by Jill Boyd in 2016 and she and her team of volunteers host the 5K event annually to raise at least $2,500 dollars, the amount generally needed for the operation to rescue one child. “It seems like a small contribution, maybe even insignificant, when looking at the grand scale of 2 million kids stuck in this porn-driven market,” shares Jill. “But, to that one child, it makes a world of difference.” These kids have no choice, emphasizes Jill. They are going through hell daily and we have the power to help. You do not have to be a seasoned 5K runner to support this cause. Whether you crawl, walk, run, buy some O.U.R. swag, or just stop by to make a donation, all are encouraged to get to UBTech in Vernal tonight, Friday, July 20th to be part of the Vernal Rescue Run. Registration
