Office of Outdoor Recreation Grant Program

A grant program that has been utilized locally is once again accepting applications. The Utah Office of Outdoor Recreation awards grants to nonprofits, youth programs and local or tribal government agencies for outdoor programs or projects that directly benefit the public. “Each year we see increased participation in outdoor activities within our local communities,” shares Director of the Office of Outdoor Recreation Tom Adams. “It is important to provide these communities and other invested groups the necessary resources to sustainably plan, prepare and participate in outdoor recreation.” The addition of youth programs is new to the list of eligible projects this year. Projects could include but are not limited to youth programs, trails, trail infrastructure and facilities, restrooms near recreational areas, water ramps and launch sites, yurts and even infrastructure for wildlife viewing areas.
