The countdown is on for the upcoming banquet of the Uintah Basin Friends of the NRA. The event has a long history in the Uintah Basin but due to economic downturn this event is the first year back in over 2 years. The NRA banquets held in the Uintah Basin over the years have consistently been in the top 10 and top 5 in the nation, shares Committee Chairman Alan Bennion, which says a lot for a one night fundraiser. The banquet is important because it opens the door for grant funding through the NRA to be used in the community. That funding is available to assist local scouting, 4H, law enforcement and other groups and causes. Infrastructure like Buckskin Hills has also utilized those grants in the past.
