A crash involving a semi and an RV at Strawberry Reservoir added to the Memorial holiday travel delays on Monday but thankfully no one was seriously hurt. UDOT Traffic announced the travel alert just after noon of the accident that took place near milepost 37 on Highway 40. Travelers in both directions had a long wait while highway patrol and first responders made it to the scene and began managing the situation. Offering some context on the cause of the crash, Utah Highway Patrol shared photos online showing the semi crashed into the side of the RV with the following message for travelers: “With the warmer weather we see more RV’s, trailers, and boats out on the roadways. This crash could have been much worse, thankfully there was only one minor injury. Be sure to give yourself more time [and] distance when driving a bigger vehicle or pulling a trailer. You need more time and distance to stop. You need more time and distance to pull into traffic. You need more time and distance to clear or change lanes. Be safe.” No further information was shared concerning the crash.
