A Neola fire on Monday is another example of how quickly yard and agricultural burning can get out of control, according to a report from the BIA Forestry & Wildlife Fire – Uintah & Ouray Agency. Three Uintah High School seniors were named Sterling Scholars for the Northeast Region last month and four more were named runner-ups. Emilee Wilson was named Region Sterling Scholar Runner-up in Agricultural Sciences. Emilee is the daughter of David and Holly Wilson.
Work has begun on the Vernal Regional Airport remodel that will allow more room for TSA check-in and can accommodate the larger aircraft capacity. According to airport manager Doug Brown, Flat Rock Construction and Angus Construction submitted bids for the terminal remodel.
