Winds and dangerous conditions have resulted in an increase in wildfires. Dinosaur National Monument shared on Tuesday evening that a new wildfire has been reported in Lodore Canyon, within the Monument. “The fire is reported to be about half a mile south of the Lodore Canyon Ranger Station. National Park Service firefighters and Moffat County Sheriff’s Office wildland firefighters are currently assigned to the fire.” More information will be shared as it becomes available. BLM provided an update on the Horse Draw Fire, stating that containment is now at 100%. Smoke within the fire perimeter may still be visible from Highway 40 and motorists are asked to stay alert for fire crews still in the area.
