New Wayfinding System Signs Going Up Around Uintah County

New wayfinding signage is going up around Uintah County fulfilling plans several years in the making. In 2017,  Roger Brooks was invited by local leaders to evaluate the Vernal area and make professional recommendations that could positively benefit local tourism and economic development. Implementing a wayfinding system was among his top suggestions and as a result, local entities joined forces to see uniform signage designed and put into place. The group secured funding primarily through grants as well as contributions from local municipalities. They continued the process by holding public meetings and exploring options and announced last spring that the long awaited project was moving forward with a design and development. Now the signs are being put into place with positive feedback coming in. There will be a total of 70 signs installed throughout Uintah County. The signs are blue with white lettering, a brown landscape on the bottom, and of course a roaming T-rex dinosaur. Installation will continue into the summer of 2021.
