New Roosevelt K9 Officer Has History of Serving in the Basin

The most recent officer to join the Roosevelt Police Department is not new to the force. Lila, the K9 narcotics dog, got her start with Myton Police Department. Once Myton PD was disbanded she served with Naples PD, explains Roosevelt Police Chief Rick Harrison. That department, however, was in need of a dual K9, meaning both a narcotics and patrol dog. As a result, Lila was purchased by Tim and Shea Mellor who recently and generously donated Lila to the Roosevelt Police Department. She is “an excellent narcotics K9,” shares Chief Harrison. “Her disposition is relatively docile for her breed but she has a high search drive. She should be a valuable asset for us once we get her trained with her partner.” Roosevelt PD is excited to welcome Lila to the team!
