New Director Announced for TriCounty Health Department

TriCounty Health issued a press release Tuesday with exciting news. TriCounty Board of Health has selected Kirk Benge as the next Health Officer/TriCounty Health Department Director. Benge is set to start at TriCounty Health Department January 19th, 2021. Current Health Officer, Jordan Mathis, is scheduled to work his last day on December 31st, 2020. During the transitional period, Environmental Health Director, Darrin Brown, will be interim Health Officer. “In my time on the board, I’ve learned a lot from Jordan,” Terry Nelson, TriCounty Board of Health Chairman, shared. “We really appreciate all he has done.” Benge will be coming to TriCounty Health Department from San Juan Health Department, where he was Health Officer for four years. Prior to working as a Health Officer, Benge worked with the state lab for 12 years and was a microbiologist prior to his experience at the state lab. Evans Family Media joins in welcoming Kirk Benge while also thanking Jordan Mathis for his service.
