It’s been a long hard road for many people since the Dollar Ridge Fire started on July 1st but now, seven weeks later, officials have given what they say will be their final update barring any unforeseen developments. Utah Fire Info reported over the weekend that the fire is now considered 94 percent contained and is holding at 68,869 acres with crews able to secure a number of sections of containment line. The management team transitioned on Sunday to a local Type 4 team who will continue to patrol the fire. Crews will continue work to secure and widen the remaining sections of the fire line. “The public should expect to see smoke from this fire for some time because there are still areas well inside the fire perimeter that will continue to burn and smolder,” shares Utah Fire Info. “These ‘smokes’ may last until the area receives significant rain, or possibly until it snows.”
