Government agencies throughout the Basin are spreading reminders to citizens to take the fire danger seriously and keep communities safe. Naples City has offered their own reminder, in particular that weeds can be a fire hazard and every business and property owner is required to regularly maintain all segments of their property. Land Use Ordinance 02-28-10 states that property must be kept in a neat and orderly condition. Weed control and periodic mowing is required. This obviously keeps a standard in maintaining the beauty of the City but at this time of year it is especially important for all communities to be safe and clear dry vegetation and weeds.
