Mountain Lion Crossing Flaming Gorge Gets Attention on You Tube

A group of fisherman had what they considered a strange encounter on Flaming Gorge and their video posted on You Tube is catching some attention. On August 7th, Michael Pearson posted a video to his You Tube channel of a mountain lion swimming across the reservoir while Pearson and his party filmed from nearby fishing boats. “Check this out,” shares Pearson on the video. “We don’t want to get too close to him but we want to see him when he comes up on the shore.” Pearson notes that he did not know this was possible. As it exits the reservoir bank, the mountain lion turns and stares back at the fisherman in the boat before making his way up the shore and on his way. Mountain lions populate the regions around Flaming Gorge and are known to roam large distances every day, keeping an eye on their turf. The video of this mountain lion has gained momentum this month as several media outlets have shared the unique piece of film.
