Moonshine Arch to Receive Signage and Road Improvements

Moonshine Arch has long been a favorite local hike in Uintah County but as it has grown in popularity so has the need for improvements and better signage for tourists. Thankfully, the funding will be coming through the UDOT Small Urban Committee to do just that. According to Uintah County Trails Committee member and project engineer Aaron Averett, the Small Urban Committee approved a $225,000 dollar grant on Monday for the Moonshine Arch project but the funds will not be made available until October of 2019. This puts the project off by a year from what was expected but the important thing is the project will be happening. “The project won’t change anything as far as access and uses,” explains Averett, “but what it does do is improve the road so it won’t be as dusty or muddy and it will work towards having an actual parking area. There will also be more signage in place to keep people on the right path.”
