It doesn’t take long for newcomers to the area to hear the name of Josie Morris and tales of her life at the cabin. In fact, Josie’s cabin is a favorite spot for a picnic, hike or adventure, especially during the summer time. If you have yet to experience the magic of Josie’s cabin or if your family is ready for another visit, plan to attend the Josie’s Cabin open house this Saturday, June 17th,  between 10am and 2pm. Josie’s cabin is located at the end of Cub Creek Road in Dinosaur National Monument. Tours of the cabin and homestead, scavenger hunts, games, storytelling and talks by local historians will all be part of the family friendly event. A guided hike into Hog Canyon begins at 10:15am and a guided tour of the homestead begins at 12:15pm. Parking is limited near the cabin so carpool if possible or be prepared to park on Cub Creek Road and walk in. For more information on Dinosaur National Monument, visit www.nps.gov/dino.
