In an article from Craig Daily Press, a new group was highlighted in their efforts to update and maintain trails in the Moffat County region. Northwest Colorado Trails Corporation will help trails for motorized recreators, mountain bikers, trail horse riders and others. The group hopes to get grants to help keep the trails clear, as at this time many locals need to bring equipment to safely navigate trails. Early locations that the group is targeting are Sand Wash Basin and Duffy Mountain. Grants have already been secured to conduct preliminary studies and planning. It is seen as critical to develop partnerships. The group is already talking with BLM and hunting outfitters to optimize their trail efforts.
