Moffat County Fire Restrictions to Be Lifted

Moffat County is joining northeastern Utah in the lifting of fire restrictions. The Moffat County Sheriff’s Office announced that effective Friday, September 11th, Moffat County will move out of current fire restrictions. “While conditions have improved enough to lift restrictions, residents and visitors are encouraged to remain cautious when using fire outdoors,” shares the announcement. “Please pay attention to wind and weather conditions, keep water or other extinguishing equipment nearby, and make sure all fires are completely extinguished before leaving them unattended.” Controlled burns are still required to be called in prior to burning. All throughout the region are still urged to remain extra cautious and take care when using fire outdoors. Always have water nearby, be aware of windy conditions, and follow all controlled burns and campfire rules.
