Memorial Day Weekend is the unofficial launch of summer travel and AAA(Triple A)

anticipates near-record travel despite the high gas prices. According to AAA, over 41.5

million Americans will travel over the weekend which is 5 percent more than in 2017. A

strong economy and growing consumer confidence is credited with the travel numbers

while gas prices remain high. The Uintah County Sheriff’s Office wishes everyone a safe

and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend. “As the summer months begin,” shares the

Sheriff’s Office, “we want to remind folks to wear your seatbelts, put your phones away,

and be focused on driving while you’re behind the wheel.” The Sheriff’s Office plans to

be out in force during the holiday to keep county roads safe so if you choose to drink,

don’t drive. Be responsible and have a great Memorial Day!
