Candidates whose names will be on the ballot in Uintah County presented at the Vernal Chamber luncheon
on Tuesday
. Among those were Uintah School Board District 4 candidates Tawnya McKee and Sarah Lamb. Both candidates live in the LaPoint area and have several children attending the Uintah School District. Lamb emphasized that she believes decisions made in the school district need to be made with fairness and compromise and with what is best for the children in mind. Lamb said funding and testing are the biggest issues faced by the district. McKee said she feels the biggest issue facing Uintah School District is that needs are not being met. Both women agreed that busing is also a high priority. District 4 is rural and depends heavily on reliable and safe busing. McKee said she would argue for more funding to ensure adequate busing. Lamb said busing should take a high priority, especially in the rural districts.
