Thomas is a Republican and the incumbent Uintah County Attorney seeking reelection as a convention only candidate opposed by Nathan Rawlings. Jaymon Thomas has practiced law for nearly 20 years and his background includes experience in criminal prosecution. He served as the Deputy County Attorney before his current position as Uintah County Attorney. In his interview, Thomas discusses the roles and responsibilities of the county attorney, including advising the Commission, managing 29 employees, and an active caseload of the most serious cases. He also discusses the factors at play when utilizing plea deals and finding balance in prosecuting cases in the county.
