Evans Family Media is providing the opportunity to get educated ahead of the upcoming primary election through the Meet The Candidate Radio Series. Bart Haslem, who is the incumbent candidate for Uintah County Commission Seat A, was the guest on the June 2nd program. Haslem is a Uintah County native, wrapping up his first term on the Commission this year and running for a second. In the interview, Haslem speaks at length about his philosophy on how the county should be managed, hitting on much discussed topics in the public including budget cutbacks, hiring a budget officer, employee benefits, Sheriff Labrum’s claim against Uintah County, and paying off debts. When asked if the county should be run like a business, Haslem said that in both you have to have accurate numbers to make decisions, so it’s not exactly like a business but the same principles apply.
