The Mayoral candidates for municipalities in Uintah County were invited to answer questions during the Vernal Chamber luncheon on Tuesday. Naples City has two individuals running for Mayor. Brock Arnold was unable to attend but had a statement read about his focus in pursuing the position of Naples City Mayor. Brock’s statement emphasized that his main focus is to put Naples first by building a stronger sense of community for the residents of Naples City. Stephanie Adams is also running for Mayor of Naples City. Stephanie ran for Naples Mayor 4 years ago and has been active in City Council meetings and remains an involved Naples community member. Nile Mathisen participated in the question/answer session as the unopposed candidate for Ballard City Mayor. Nile is a lifelong resident of the Uintah Basin and has served on the Ballard City Council for 10 years. Finally, unopposed Vernal City Mayoral candidate Corey Foley answered questions. As a member of the Vernal City Council, Corey has stayed involved in the downtown Vernal revitalization.
