The Wyoming man behind a felony animal cruelty case involving a wolf has pleaded Guilty. 45-year-old Cody Roberts has made headlines all over the world after running over a wolf with a snowmobile in February 2024 and then bringing it to a Wyoming bar muzzled and injured before eventually killing the animal. Photos of Roberts posing with the muzzled wolf have been widely spread. On Thursday, Roberts accepted a plea agreement and pleaded Guilty. Cowboy State Daily reported that Roberts apologized in court, saying he sincerely regrets his actions and added that he also apologizes to the community and his family. He said he hopes “everyone can heal and move forward.” The plea agreement recommends Roberts be on probation for 18 months during which alcohol use or proximity to alcohol is forbidden. He’ll be required to seek addiction treatment and will be banned from hunting and fishing. Any violations could see Roberts sentenced to up to 2 years in prison and more fines. Roberts will be sentenced at a later court date.
