A call of threatening behavior in Uintah County earlier this month sent officers searching for the suspect who had left the scene. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the suspect’s parole officer was able to locate him and initiate a traffic stop at 1500 East 500 North. Officers arrived on the scene and it was noted that the man, 43-year-old Scott Allen Abel, appeared fidgety, unable to stand still, and unusually sped up. Field sobriety testing was performed and it was determined that Abel was unsafe to be driving and he was placed under arrest for DUI. Abel tested positive for methamphetamine and was booked into Uintah County Jail on DUI, Possession of Methamphetamine, and other charges.
