While further details of the investigation have not been released, Vernal PD confirms that the man confronted by a group of teens while “engaged in lewd conduct involving a child” has died. According to Vernal PD, an incident took place on March 20th at 1300 West Main Street. Vernal PD’s investigation determined “that the adult male had been engaging in lewd conduct involving a child, and that he was confronted by several teenagers. The adult approached the teenagers in a confrontational manner. One of the teenagers pushed the adult back in order to defend himself. The adult again aggressively approached the teenager and was pushed backward a second time resulting in a fall.” The man was injured and was eventually transported to a Wasatch Front medical facility. Vernal PD confirmed on Wednesday that the man did pass away but they were waiting for the official cause and manner of death to see if it was related to the incident or not.
