Man Hospitalized After Stabbing in Vernal

A domestic dispute ended in a stabbing on Monday in Vernal. According to a press release from the Vernal City Police Department, law enforcement was dispatched to a Vernal residence on Monday, September 23rd around 4:00pm regarding a physical altercation. “Upon arrival, Law Enforcement Officers determined that the male involved had left the residence as a passenger in a vehicle,” shares Vernal PD. “The Officer on scene discovered a substantial amount of blood in the driveway. It was soon discovered that the Male had been transported to the Ashley Regional Medical Center Emergency Room with a stab wound. Investigation revealed that a physical altercation occurred at the residence, and that the male had gotten into the passenger side of a vehicle at the scene when he was stabbed through the open window by 21 year old Vernal resident Meikel Cameron whom he lives with.” Cameron was booked into Uintah County Jail for Aggravated Assault. The man who was stabbed, Donovan Paulus, was flown to a Wasatch Front hospital for medical treatment.
