A man in Uintah County has been charged with 2nd degree felony theft and multiple counts of assaulting a police officer during an arrest that took place last month. 22-year-old Gregory Lee Augustus allegedly stole a 2003 dark green Jaguar on or about December 13th from the business, We Buy Junk Cars. The Jaguar was later found abandoned in Jensen. Officers found Augustus at a residence and told him he was under arrest. According to court documents, Augustus refused to follow the commands of the police officers and a struggle ensued between him and the arresting officers. Court documents state that “a taser had to be used before officers were able to secure [Augustus] in custody.” Augustus was booked into Uintah County Jail.
