An investigation into if an employee had embezzled money confirmed what was suspected. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, Roosevelt Police had been informed that an employee was suspected to be taking money out of the company safe and had been caught on camera multiple times. The individual had also confessed to taking $10,000 and had provided a written confession. The man told investigators that he had been threatened and “owed a guy money”, prompting his stealing from the safe. He told investigators that he took money in $1000 increments and that the last time had been on December 9th. The store informed law enforcement they only wanted to press charges for $3000 worth of theft. Jacob Bigler was arrested and is charged with 3rd Degree Felony Theft.
