A 19-year-old man is facing serious charges after an alleged assault against an individual under the age of 18. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, an officer responded to a disorderly detail in Uintah County and it was reported that while Gianni Davis had been notified by the homeowner not to enter onto the property, Davis did so anyway and assaulted the minor. Witnesses claimed that Davis kicked the victim in the head multiple times. The Affidavit of Probable Cause states, “I responded to a disorderly detail at the previously mentioned address. It was reported that Gianni Davis assaulted the Victim with a beer bottle. It should be noted that the Victim was under the age of 18 during this investigation. Gianni was known to the reporting party as they were in contact via text messages stating he was not welcome to the residence. I was familiar with him based on prior incidents that he was involved in. It was reported that the Victim had multiple injuries to his head, including severe bleeding from his face. Upon arrival I observed a broken beer bottle and some blood spatter. Multiple eye witnesses stated they heard a beer bottle being broken after they observed Gianni hitting and kicking the Victim multiple times. It was reported that the Victim was kicked in the head in a ‘curb stomping’ manner by eye witnesses. While speaking with the Victim he stated he recalled being pushed, punched, and something hit the back of his head that he believed was a bottle.” Assisting officers located Davis as he fled the area in a passenger vehicle. While speaking to Davis, officers noticed a heavy odor of alcohol and the portable breath test gave a 0.101 result. Gianni Davis was arrested and is charged with 3rd Degree Felony Aggravated Assault, Criminal Trespass, Public Intoxication, and underage drinking. As of Tuesday, the judge ordered Davis to be held without bail.
