A man was arrested last week in Vernal after officers responded to calls in the early morning hours of a man with a glass tube pipe about the size of a baseball bat in the hotel parking lot brandishing weapons, talking about selling drugs, and displaying disturbing behavior. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, officers found Joseph Gomez kneeling next to a white car with a broken window making odd, incoherent statements. While detaining him, Gomez stated he had his tomahawk. Drugs were located on his person and he was transported to the Uintah County Jail. 41-year-old Joseph Dion Gomez is charged with 3rd Degree Felony Offering Distribution of a Controlled Substance and multiple Misdemeanor Possession of Controlled Substance charges, as well as Public Intoxication and Disorderly Conduct.
