Major tourism stops in the Basin are getting a boost through the state of Utah’s latest campaign. The Utah Office of Tourism has run the Mighty 5campaign for over 4 years now driving thousands of visitors to Zions, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. With the Mighty 5 campaign considered an epic success, the state is shifting their focus to promote other tourism hot spots that are on the way to the Mighty 5 parks as they launch the Road to Mighty campaign. The Utah Field House in Vernal, Dinosaur National Monument, Red Fleet and Flaming Gorge will each be included in this new marketing campaign. “The state wants to target different destinations to spread the economic benefit of tourism throughout the state,” shares Uintah County Travel and Tourism Director Lesha Coltharp. The Utah Office of Tourism has a $21 million dollar annual marketing budget and a significant portion of that will be dedicated to the success of the Road to Mighty campaign. Matching funds have already been awarded to Uintah County for their own advertising budget for the local tourist hot spots.
