Maeser Elementary Welcomes Olympians During Champion Schools 34 Opening

Wednesday was a very special day at Maeser Elementary as they celebrated their selection as a Utah 2034 Champion School with an Olympic Opening Ceremonies, complete with special guests. “Two-time Olympic speedskating medalist Ethan Cepuran showed us the bronze medal he won in Beijing 2022 and the silver medal from Milano Cortina 2026,” shares the Maeser Elementary announcement. “U.S. Climbing Paralympic hopeful Daliya Hansen talked about the hours of hard work she's putting in to make the 2028 U.S. Paralympic Team for the Los Angeles Games. And Utah 2034 Education Committee chair Amy Garff shared her experience running with the Olympic torch during the lead up to the 2026 Winter Olympics.” Champion Schools 34 is a statewide education program developed through the Utah 2034 Olympic Organizing Committee and Ken Garff for Good Literacy Initiative. Today the program has moved on to Centennial Elementary in Roosevelt for their Opening Ceremonies as another Utah 2034 Champion School.
