Local Young Man Saved From Fiery Crash in Miraculous Rescue

Miracles still happen today and the angels at work are often the average men and women all around us. Tragedy struck Monday night when a young man crashed his vehicle on Highway 40 in the area known as hill top. When the vehicle came to a stop the driver was alone and unconscious but alive; likely not for long, however, as the car was suddenly in flames. What could have quickly become a loss of life received a different ending thanks to two people who pulled over and ran towards the crash in order to help. One of the angels was a woman who found a cement block to use to break the car’s window as the flames were spreading. It took some effort but once the glass broke, the young man was pulled out and his life was spared. While he has a severe concussion and several other injuries, he and his parents are beyond grateful for the guardian angels who didn’t waste a moment and ran towards the danger at hand. Mike and Melissa Stengel took to the Uintah Basin Weather & Traffic Alert Facebook page on Tuesday to share their thanks to all those who responded to their son’s accident but in particular to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to those two wonderful people who saved their son’s life. “I’ll forever be grateful,” shares father Mike Stengel. “I was told that within just a minute or two the ending would have been very different.” Stengel also expressed his gratitude to all the first responders including law enforcement, fire, and EMS that make it their daily work to run towards the danger and perform life saving miracles on a daily basis.
