The Utah Department of Workforce Services has provided its latest report and local data shows a decrease in unemployment rates. For April 2021, Daggett County reports 2.8 percent unemployment, down from 3.3 percent the month before and 8.6 percent a year ago. Duchesne County reports 4.9 percent unemployment, down from 5.4 percent in March and 12.2 percent a year ago. Uintah County reports 5.7 percent unemployment, down from 6.2 percent in March and 16.1 percent a year ago. The state of Utah is reporting 2.8 percent unemployment, just barely down from 2.9 percent in March and 10.1 percent a year ago. Nationally, unemployment is at 6.1 percent, up slightly from 6 percent in March and down from 14.8 percent a year ago.
