It’s time for the 25th annual Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive and local letter carriers will be ready to accept your food donations this Saturday. The Uintah Basin Association of Governments is leading the way to provide locals with a reminder bag that can be filled with non-perishable food donations to be left near mailboxes on May 13th no later than 9:00am to be collected by the local mail men and women. “The donations received as a result of this food drive come at a crucial time as school gets out and many kids are left without access to school meal programs, placing additional strain on already tight family budgets,” shares UBAOG community services coordinator Kim Dieter. “Community support of this effort will truly make a difference in the lives of the 1 in 5 Utah kids at risk of missing a meal today.” All donations will go to one of the four Tri-County area food pantries. Donations can also be dropped off at either the Duchesne County Food Pantry in Roosevelt or the Ashley Valley Food Pantry in Vernal.
