Local SONIC Top 12 Ranking Means $10,000 For Local Classrooms

A nice chunk of funding is being shared among local classrooms thanks to the high performance of the local SONIC crew who earned a spot among the Top 12 SONICs nationwide in their 2026 Dr. Pepper Games. According to the November 5th announcement, public school teachers across the Vernal area will receive a total of $10,000 in classroom funding as a reward for the SONIC crew’s standout performance. Local teachers and schools have already begun to receive project funding, including Mrs. Thul at Vernal Middle School, Ms. Angus at Davis Elementary, and Mrs. Hunt at Ashley Elementary. More than 3,400 SONIC locations participated in this year’s competition. Great job to the local SONIC crew for supporting local education. And to everyone else, take this as your sign to go ahead and get that afternoon happy hour drink at Vernal’s SONIC and tell yourself you’re doing your part to support local education.
