Local Selected As Head Coach For Utah Team of USA Special Olympics

A local has been selected as the head coach for Team Utah at the USA Special Olympics competition held every four years for Special Olympic athletes across the United States. This year’s Special Olympics USA Games will be held June 5th through the 12th in Florida and a beloved local swim coach will be there as head coach for the Utah athletes! “Wendy Harris, the Uintah Recreation District Aquatics Manager, has been selected as Head Coach for Utah!” shares an announcement from the Uintah Recreation District. “She will be training and taking the Special Olympic swimmers to the USA Special Olympics Games in Florida this June!” Congratulations to Coach Harris and best of luck to all our local athletes! The Special Olympics USA Games hosts 5,500 athletes and coaches from all 50 states and the Caribbean and 125,000 spectators.
