A local salon and its owner is in the spotlight and for good reason. On May 1st, Ooh La La & Friends Salon, owned by Amanda Danielle Carmickle, was recognized as the Woman-owned Small Business of the Year during Utah’s National Small Business Week Award Ceremony. “Since its inception in 1963,” shares the announcement, “National Small Business Week has been dedicated to honoring the risk-takers, job creators, and visionaries who form the backbone of America’s prosperity.” Ooh La La certainly belongs in that category. “From a one-person salon in 2012 to a thriving beauty business, Ooh La La & Friends has grown through SBA loans enabling Amanda to purchase and renovate a permanent location,” they share. “She has received guidance from the Small Business Development Center, an official SBA Resource Partner, which has assisted her through her growth. She currently mentors and provides salon space to other independent stylists, creating a ripple effect of female entrepreneurship in Vernal.” Congratulations to Amanda Carmickle and her amazing team at Ooh La La & Friends on this impressive recognition!
