It’s a comic book with a cause. As the flagship comic book for Glider Comix, Sugar Glider is the brainchild of a Vernal 12-year-old and her comic book collecting dad. Shelbi Webb, a 6th grader at Vernal Middle School, and her dad Jason were talking one day in March of 2017 how it would be fun to create their own comic book character. A major fan of The Flash and Squirrel Girl, Shelbi came up with a character that blended qualities from both and incorporated a focus on tackling tough teen issues like bullying, drugs and alcohol, and body image. After a whirlwind year, Sugar Glider will debut at a launch party May 12th from 10am to 2pm at the 50 West Club & Cafe in Salt Lake City. Learn more at
