Two sisters are investing in the future of nursing education in the Uintah Basin. During this year’s commencement ceremonies, it was announced that Ann and Inella Kunz have donated $25,000 dollars to the USU Foundation, establishing the Ann and Inella Kunz Scholarship Endowment. The donation will be invested in order to provide scholarships to students in the pre-nursing program at USU-Uintah Basin into the future. Ann and Inella had parents with limited educational opportunities and were first generation university students, both becoming nurses while raising families. “We are very grateful for this gift from Ann and Inella,” shares USU-Uintah Basin Executive Director James Taylor. “Their donation will make a lasting impact for many of our students to come.” Ann and Inella funded the scholarship to benefit students who share not only their lofty educational goals, shares the USU announcement, but also their economically challenging background.
