A local couple has made a hobby of using YouTube and social media to encourage the community to get outside and add some excitement to their day with the possibility of an extra reward. The ‘Gabe N Rain’ YouTube channel posts quick videos of cash or gift cards being hidden in the outdoors and the first person to recognize where it is and find it, gets to keep it. Gabe says the channel was born from his love of adventure. “I thought it would be fun to have lots of little treasure hunts and instead of clues, have visual clues that people could recognize. So I just started hiding money,” he explains. “A lot of people don’t want to be glued to their phone but don’t see a different option. I thought it would be a cool gateway to get from the couch to outside. I initially thought young adults would be the ones finding the money, but I’ve received feedback from every age range.” This is a great time to join the fun as they will be announcing some hides of Silver Certificates this Saturday.
