Local Children Add Magic To Nathan Pacheco Concert

The Nathan Pacheco concert on Wednesday evening was a special event, especially for a group of local children who sang with Pacheco for two numbers in the concert. Heaven had a hand in how it all came together, according to local Amy Hartman who personally made the request to Nathan Pacheco to include children’s voices during his concert. Amy heard Mr. Pacheco was taking song requests for when he comes to perform a concert in your town and the song ‘I’m Trying To Be Like Jesus’ is what came to her mind. “It’s not a specific Christmas song but the message is what Christmas is and what all year long should be for us,” explains Amy. “I didn’t do anything about it but it kept coming to me.”  Learning of a friend’s cancer diagnosis is what inspired Amy to finally reach out to the Pacheco team and request the song as a tribute to her friend and she made it clear that her vision would be to include children’s voices. While she didn’t expect to get an answer, the Pacheco team responded and the song and children’s choir came together in time. Amy was also invited to play the piano for the number, making it especially meaningful. Of course the children sang beautifully. One choir member, the almost-11-year-old Julie Hadlock, put it best: “Music can help us feel deeply and if you need to feel the Christmas spirit, turn on the right music.” Pacheco said he hopes to perform in the Uintah Basin again and one thing is clear, if he does, his backup singers will be ready.
