Library Children’s Section Remodel Announced During 111th Birthday Celebration

Monday’s birthday celebration at the Uintah County Library was more than just an opportunity to enjoy a slice of cake. During a brief speech and ceremony to kick off the celebration, Uintah County Library Director Sam Passey announced some exciting plans. “I’m really excited to announce that the children’s area will be remodeled,” shared Passey. “
After 7-8
years in this building, the number one suggestion from people that use the children’s area is to find a way to isolate the kids from the stairs.” Passey explained that there will be some rearranging, including a glass wall that will close off the children’s area from the stairs. The story time area will be moved to where the children’s non-fiction section is located and there will only be one way in and out of that section. There will still be a lot of visibility with the glass wall while hopefully also helping families feel more safe in the library. It will likely also help make for a more enjoyable study experience for others throughout the library.
