Cancer has far reaching effects as many individuals and families in the Uintah Basin already know. A group that is doing their part to provide support to locals affected by cancer is adding Vernal to their meeting rotation. The Let’s Talk: Uintah Basin Cancer Support Group has consistently met at the Villa in Roosevelt but their goal has been to rotate monthly meetings between Roosevelt and Vernal. “There are so many people in the Basin affected by cancer that are looking for resources, answers to questions, and emotional support,” shares group coordinator Cecilia Sullivan. “This month we will have our first meeting in Vernal. We will meet every other month in Vernal and hope that will make it easier for those that are unable to travel to Roosevelt.” The meeting will be held January 11th at 6pm at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 226 West Main Street in Vernal.
