A home in Lapoint is likely a total loss after a fire. According to Lapoint/Tridell Fire Chief Tyler McKee, the call came in of a structure fire on 8500 East in Lapoint on Sunday at 10:14pm. “Upon arrival we found fire on the north end of the structure,” shares McKee. “Given the access to the residence, it was hard to extinguish the fire. The home was not inhabited at the time of the fire.” McKee says control of the fire took longer than normal due to access and lack of water resources. Crews were on scene for roughly 5 hours and the home is likely a total loss. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
