The Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America announced on Tuesday that over $1.7 million dollars were raised during their 3,700 mile journey across America. In addition to the more than $1.7 million dollars raised by the Ride, a $2 million dollar donation was presented to the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Trust bringing the total to $3.7 million dollars. The group traveled the longest route in the charity ride’s 25 year history, starting on May 3rd in Seattle, Washington, traveling through 11 states in nine days, and ending in Key Largo, Florida on May 11th. Kyle Petty thanked the cities and towns along their route that welcomed them and provided police escorts and support. The caravan of 250 riders led by Petty made a stop in Vernal on May 5th with Vernal City Police providing the escort as they traveled through the area.
